Gathering info on the Altec Bolero 890C

Will someone please tell me if the info I have collected over time on the Bolero is correct:

    1) This is the smallest Altec speaker that can produce a bit of the larger "Altec Sound".
    2) The little horn HF driver is difficult to locate and impossible to repair (even for GPA)

Question: Can GPA rehab the woofer and passive radiator used in the 890C ??

I have a location where a set of these may work well but I don't want to mess with them if they are really fragile and can't be repaired.

    Thanks guys.....

    I wouldn't put money on that. It's a 10" woofer.

That's a ubiquitus Hepner horn that many persons have sitting on their shelves at home. If you can measure it, I'll see if I have the same model. They're not going anywhere soon. Alnico magnet on the ones I have.

Call them. The surround should be ok as IIRC they are cloth. The only thing I would do is to rotate them 180? and maybe recap the XO.

if they are really fragile and can't be repaired.
They may be small but they are still Altecs. Chuck Norris approved.
Nothing like a great big pair of speakers to make your day.
